Problem with Excel.

I am working out the percentage for two cells however, if the cells have 0’s in them I get #DIV/0 in the answer cell, formula = (KS215/KS214*100 ) question how do I make the answer cell = 0 if this happens, these cells are dynamitic and can change with time? Thanks.

Then I think you're doing something wrong.

The formula 'says' that:

If KS214=0, then that cell will use 0 for its value.
And if KS214 is not equal to 0, then it uses the same formula as you were using before.

I think you need to try and explain in a bit more detail what you're trying to do.

As a side note - are you sure you need to multiply by 100? Or would you be better having the result 'formatted' as a 'Percentage' (Cell Format options).

I clay shoot, and this is to work out my hits average.
Chosen 2 more cells, so cell NI97=NI99/NI98*100 gives me %

NI99 total clays for gate =56
NI98 Total Hits for gate =37

But on the weeks I have yet to shoot the cells will contain 0

This is for 1 day, then I duplicate the table for each day we shoot in the month.
I have now done as you suggested and changed the answer cell to percentage.
If I put your equation in I get 0 even though the 2 cells have numbers in them?

Thanks for your help.

Are you just entering the formula for a sinlge cell, or are you trying to apply the formula to a range of cells?

If you don't mind emailing the spreadsheet, I'll happily have a look at it and see if I can work out what's not right.

Email is in trust.
