Problem with Firefox and typing

I’m having a strange problem when I try and type anything in to Firefox. When I click in to say the search bar in to google it will automatically unselect itself with out me doing anything, it's as if the mouse has been clicked in a separate part of the page. It’s only just started doing this and is so bad that I can only start to write about one word it suddenly unselecting itself from text box (so I’m having to write this in word!).

It means that I can’t for example even search for anything in google as I write one work, or pause for a second and it automatically unselects the text box I’m trying to write in! It means that I can’t even search to find the problem! It doesn’t seem to do it in any other program though.

Any ideas?!!

Have you tried disabling all fire fox plugins? Try that first of all.

try the above and if that doesn't cure it then try reinstalling FF.

I'd take firefox off and install it again. If the probem persists after that its worth having a look into

I'd suggest a reset of the FF profile before doing a re-install.

Don't bother reinstalling, try safe mode and/or a new profile. Reinstalling will almost certainly do jiggly squat.
