Problem with first build

Well its not really my first build just switched mobo and cpu but have to put everything together

I put all the components togther and hit the power button. The screen has the info of the bios and cpu and ram, and 2 option 'press f2 to run setup' or 'press f11 for boot menu' . When i go to the boot menu i can only choose the floppy drive and then i am told ' reboot and select proper boot device'.

I looked in the setup at the IDE drives and my hard disk and cd rom are not being detected.

Any ideas guys?

Sorry for the lack of info I was in a rush last night! Right i dont need to install an OS can the hard drive already has 1 installed on it.

Specs :
FX 5900 graphics card
!gb of crucial ram
AMD Athalon 64 3200
Asrock 939Dual-SATA2

I tried starting up the computer without the DVD drive connected to the mobo. It actually starts up and detects the hard drive, but it only gets as far as the 'windows did not start successfully screen' i tried every option it gives me and i still cannot get past this screen with the the dvd drive not connected.

They are on different cables,but both are connected on the end of each cable. So do I have to connect the DVD drive up using the middle connecter to set it as a slave??

how do i know they are set to master???
