Ok problem with my first build, just put my 3570k into pc, and on my MOBO it shows the red DRAM light and wont post. It repeatedly turns itself on and off again every couple of seconds, however if I remove my RAM sticks it will stay on longer but still not post. I have tried swapping the sticks over, and just with one stick of RAM. Is there anything that I should be doing? Everything seems to have been put in properly. All parts from OCUK and nothing 2nd hand, only thing I am reusing is the optical drive, which was working last time I checked.

So is the RAM or something else?

Does the DRAM light flash if it is another problem other than RAM?

Specs:

i5 3570k
Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
( https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-483-AS )

Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Still will not work!!!! Set the bugger up outside the case and just cuts out every 2 seconds still.

Is anyone able to confirm the ram I have is supported by the MOBO? The MOBO is ivybridge ready so that shouldn't be a problem either?

Does this light only go on if its a ram problem too? Or faulty mobo?

*facepalm* Trouble is, the mobo was bought over 28 days ago, I just didn't open it because I waited for ivy. They really shouldn't have '22nm ready' on the box if it doesn't support ivy out the box???

I have a solution, if you like. I could take my 2500k out and come to you, that way you can upload the lastest bios.

That is really kind of you, but I think that would surely be too much hassle. I think I am going to have to buy a £26 celeron processor and update and use a spare lol!

Fiver for petrol and i`ll come tomorrow night, saves you £20 and waiting for delivery. No hassle for me, choice is yours.

Just got a reply from my facebook HELP ME status and a colleague from work is coming round to let me use his i3. Thanks again, I shall be sure to post if it doesn't work!!!
