A friend of mine has a problem with Flight Sim, he was making a flight from Japan to Amsterdam and around 5 minutes before landing he got a message
stating that he is out of memory and that he must clean up his hard drive.

He checked the hard drives and he has plenty of space, so i'm thinking it might be something to do with the virtual memory page size.

Anyone got any ideas?

More common problem with FSX from my experience. Only really had this problem myself when using FSInn on VATSIM where the longer the flight the more chance I'd have of an OOM error.

Theres a 'fix' on the Microsoft website for this problem for FSX, but im not sure if it works for FS9 or not?

If you go to the avsim forums and search for "oom error" or "out of memory" you'll find hundreds of posts on this problem. Different fixes have worked for different people, ranging from adding more system memory to applying a 3gb switch fix to the fs9.exe.

Have a read throguh and see what works for you.

Thanks for the replys, as it happens i had a look at his system when running FS9, and its not the OOM problem all the error says is

"Flight Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close"

No real information on what caused the error but when i look through it and see what its sending in the error report is mentions 'scenery' and the 'FS9.CFG.txt' file.

Thanks again in advance
