Problem with Gainward 4870X2 "Rampage GLH"

My 4870x2 (this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-083-GW&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1235) arrived today from ocuk.

pinstaleld it but when i turn on the power there's no output only "no signal detected" on the monitor trie with the vga, dvi and hdmi slots on the card all get nothing one 2 different monitors.

The system boots fine with my old card in (8800 ultra).


Is this a problem with the card or could it be somthing else?

rest of system specs

Q6600 @ stock
DFI LT X48-T2R
850w be Quiet psu
8gb corsair xms2 ram (tried with each stick individually and together all work fine with other card nothing with this one so don;t think its a problem with them)



Is it the card or anything else?

Ifi rma it would isend it to ocuk or gainwood? (never had to rma somthign before so got no iea how to )

Do you have the latest motherboard BIOS? if I recall that particular motherboard has had some compatibility problems with 4870x2.

If it only arrived today you can return it to OCUK under distance selling act if you're not happy with it, bad timing as well what with the XFX 4870x2 today £60 cheaper.

As said it could well be a BIOS issue.

The DFI x38 and x48 (I think) motherboards had an issue with the 4870x2s when they came out, but DFI released a new bios version to resolve the issue.

yeah it's an old mobo, going to try updating the bios now

Post back under DSR for £10 (dont feel bad as it's possibly faulty anyway), order the XFX, saving £50

I think flashing your bios can fix the AID's but you risk breaking yourself
