Problem with games Software or Hardware related?

Ive built a system for my mate


amd 64 3000 oc'd to 2.3ghz
1gb ballistix pc4000
asus sli dexluxe
x800xl
and his old 40gb hdd
windows Media center Edition

but i seem to be having problems installing some games on farcry i get this error

internal error 2704. layers and on quake 4 i get the microsoft error where you can report the problem ? does any body know how i can sort this out or is it a hardware problem as i brought them all from MM but then on other games works fine

Try setting processor to default speeds and see if that helps.

is it a 1gb stick of memory or 2x512mb. I think I read somewhere that if it is just 1gb stick it has to go in a certain slot on that Asus Board. Slot 3 I think but cant be sure?? Sorry not much help...I could be totally wrong.

its 2 x 512mb
