Problem with German language in Windows 7

I bought Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit OEM from a German retailer when I was over there on holidays recently. I did this because I heard that with the Ultimate version it allows you to change the language. I presumed I would be given a choice during the installation but it just did German by default. After a bit of messing around using my limited German I finally figured out how to install and select the English language pack. Problem is though a lot of things didnt change, stuff like events descriptions in the event viewer, start up and shut down screens, install screens etc. Its getting to really annoy me having to use babelfish to do translations every time I want to troubleshoot with event viewer. Anyway I was thinking would it be possible to download the English version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and use my legitimate key?

It should work - has for me in the past and yes it's possible to download via Digital River or otherwise! Don't forget if downloading to check the hashes using something like HashTab 3
Note: I find Google is now more intuitive than babel-fish

What is the difference between Retail and OEM version of Windows 7? None The answer lies not in the soil but in the keys
Trust/ email me if you need more info and I will look it out
