Problem with heatsink

While traveling to LAN my heatsink from my CPU fell off, after putting it back when I play a game my FPS is normal then gradually gets worse very quickly, like 40-50 FPS on CounterStrike 1.6. Any ideas on what it could be?

I don't have any paste to apply, but would it cause problems similar to this? Running speedfan it shows Core0 at 81c when its lagging, after I close CounterStrike it goes back down to 52c and then CPU usage on task manager goes back down to 0-2%

Is there anyway to reduce the heat? Like underclocking for example? Like I said there's no paste to apply, and it's too late to get any.

I've applied some paste and the temps are still high, maybe the CPU is busted? I booted up the PC with the heatsink off completely, because after setting up at LAN I obviously didn't realize it was off, until I opened it up

Temps after booting up idle are 55c on both cores (stock heatsink), and when trying to play a game it will exceed 85c and eventually shut down.

Right, in regards to this, received my new cooler today, trying to remove the stock heatsink and the 4 pin connector seems really hard to take out, spent a good 10 minutes trying to remove it. Shouldn't it just be a simple pull out thing? Was thinking maybe one of the metal bars snapped or something when it fell off? =\

Broken stock heatsink: 55c on idle, 70-85 when loaded.
AC7 Pro: 30c on idle, 40c load.

Received the items today, AC7 cooler was open already and didn't receive the paste I ordered.

Had trouble getting in the pins, actually broke two of them getting them in bit annoyed at how they're made, so I have to lay my case so the motherboard is on the ground so it doesn't fall off again. I can forsee trouble in the future when I move it.

But yep, for now it's working with 2/4 pins in..not much else I can do.

Hmm, just check CPUZ and the CPU voltage spikes.
I.E: 1.184 -> 1.2 -> 1.184 -> 1.248

I don't remember this happening before?

I thought it was supposed to be stable.
