Problem with iPod

I have just bought a new iPod and installed iTunes. When I plugged the iPod in I was prompted to select a language, however I can't even cycle between languages or select a language?

Anyone know what is wrong?

It also says it has full battery so I dont think it is that.

Are you using the click wheel correctly? Rub your thumb around where it has the 4 buttons clockwise, not the centre bit of the click wheel, thats the action button (like Enter on a keyboard). If its not working still, send it back.
