problem with laptop bot problem

hi, can anyone help, i have a acer aspire 7720G laptop, its always beden fine until recently, i am not sure if its down to a new bios i have installed within the last few weeks but it seems that each time i restart or turn on my latop i cannot see anything at all on the screen until it gets to where i put the password in to start windows. sometimes the latop hangs completely and wont start, i have found sometimes if i press keys while its hanging it seems to get it back loading again. once the latop has started ikt seesm fine though.

anyone got any idea what it may be?

I'd go back to the previous Bios if it was me.

I've seen this before and usually its a mainboard replacement needed. Not sure what causes it but its one of those odd symptoms, fine in windows but no display in bios or dos.
