I have got given a new laptop through work and its a HP ZD8147 17" widescreen model...
I however havent been given the system restore cd so I downloaded every driver associated with this machine from the HP website and saved to a partition on the D:/ and then formatted, I have since installed all of the latest drivers and direct x and done windows updates and still I have a problem which is driving me crazy.
The operation of the laptop is very quick, i.e. boot up and application loading. All programs boot up with no problem at all.
However when I try to open a jpeg, or setup file from desktop there is a horrendous waiting time!!!!! literally about 40 seconds then the file just pops up on the screen, it is so annoying.
When I go into device manager I have the following two items that havent got drivers installed
MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER
PCI Device
I have installed all drivers possible and it wont tell me what these devices are can anyone point me in the right direction!??
Any help would be much appreciated!
