I have an LG Flatron L1710B, recently when the monitor wakes up from standby (either when I turn the computer on or when I return to the computer) the light flashes green on the monitor but no picture is displayed, this can go on for a varying amount of time and then when it eventually does wake up it shows DVI Digital in the top right, almost like it is selecting the input to use, the same problem occurs when I connect the monitor through the analogue input. It's not the graphics card as I have tried it with a different monitor.

Is this the end for the monitor, it seems to be getting worse every day?

Im having the exacr same problem, it has been happening for months now. It really frustrating when windows are stuck on this monitor aswell (I have Dual's).

Any help would be great, before I start hunting for new ones.

Update: I'm now onto LG about this; since I bought it on 16th August 2004 it is still under guarantee. I contacted LG Wells (the LG repair centre) about this who arranged for a replacement monitor to be sent out to me and mine would be collected. All was fine and the monitor was swapped with another LG 1710B, this however was faulty, where there was a shadow to the right of the image so when looking at text it made it nearly impossible to read, I phoned up about this and a replacement was sent, this one also unfortunately had a fault, in the way that it wouldn’t do anything whatsoever, so I phoned up again and another replacement was sent, which has the problem with the shadow, so tomorrow I will be phoning up and asking to speak with a supervisor or manager about the issue.

It was just lucky that I bought a replacement monitor (Dell 2007WFP) otherwise I would have been without a PC for however long it takes LG to send me a working monitor.

I have a LG L1710B, bought it about 4 years ago now, the model has been discontinued for well over a 18 months I'm sure! Could be why they only have dud ones left to send you ;)

Oh and I have 2 Dell 2007WFP now :D
