My brother has recently built a PC however he's having problems getting it to run in Dual channel mode. He has an Asrock 4CoreDual with 2gb GeIL Ultra low latency and if he sticks just one stick of ram in, it works fine, but if he puts two in it dies half way through windows booting up.

Any ideas why this might happen?

Same problem except mine boots alright i just struggle to instal, run and patch games.
Try upping the voltage to 2.3v and up the MCH by 0.1v see if that helps.

Keep your eye on the Vcore volatage aswell as the extra stick could be working the system harder and dipping your CPU voltage to much.If your going to increase it do so gently.

I have the same board, and have just bought 2gb of the same geil from ocuk (awaiting delivery). I can't remember if you have exact control over memory voltage, as it might be just low / normal / high as the options (will have to check). But basically the problem your having is more than likely the memory voltage is not high enough at present and you will have to up it (Absolute MAX 2.3Volts!!! [on the your geil]).
