problem with my Benq display & HD 5770

my monitor's display is off centre,i'm using a vga cable to connect the monitor to hd 5770 card @ 1920x1080 res.i've tried different drivers,adjusting the screen position through ati catalyst but nothing really worked.

any idea what is the problem here ? could it be because i'm using vga for 1920x1080 res ?

Have you tried to maybe get a DVI cable and use that. It MAY fix it.

i did & it fixed it but i dont know what to do because my Ps3 was using the dvi port & now its gone to PC

the only option i see is to sell my new benq monitor & buy one wihich has more than 1 digital port,something like the G2420HD.

Might of been the adaptor you was using try a new one and it may work if not then yeah somethings wrong

You are of course aware of an "AUTO" button on all displays, aren't you? Pressing it auto-adjusts the picture if connected via VGA.

You beat me to it! And you can also adjust the picture manually as well, to fit the screen (only through VGA on my monitor).

BINGO! problem fixed at last.

never ever had to use the auto button before but then i've not used vga for PC before.thank you soooooooooo much for your help.
