Hello,
OK, my friend has a problem with his sony vaio VGN-NR11S laptop. It is a problem with the built in intel wireless unit. There is a switch to turn it on and off at the front of the laptop (with a corresponding LED). When the machine is booted up the LED is on, however, when you log into windows, the LED turns off. I have tried the following things:
The laptop is running Vista Home Premium.
If anyone has any suggestions, then that would be nice!
Many thanks...

I have tried the following things:
- Disable and re-enable the wireless module within the device manager
- Uninstall and re-install the driver (without actually removing the driver from the machine)
- Fiddle with the switch to see if there is a loose connection (i am quite sure that there is no loose connection)
- Uninstall Sony's own wireless connection manager
The laptop is running Vista Home Premium.
