Hi,

I have had similar problems in the past with graphics cards. I would say that you test to see if the overclock is stable on your card (the factory overclock). There are two programs that should be suitable for this, EVGA Precision or Rivatuna, simply lower the clocks on your shaders, memory and GPU core to stock levels. If the card runs stable it will prove that the card is unable to run at factory settings and you should get an RMA and replacement because the card does not operate as advertised.

It could also be power related in that your power supply is not up to the job of powering the card, you could try an alernate machine with another power supply to prove this.

You can download the above mentioned programs from the net. Finally, to test for a bad overclock I test for artifacts using ATI Tool (Google it), if the cube shows glitches that may be a sign that the card is unable to cope at OC2 settings.

Regards

Von

I adjusted the gpu core clock down to 633 which seems to be std and played codWaW no problem for over an hour looks like your right M8

The factory overclock is on the limit of the chips stability. The step down in core speed is the GPU switching between Performance 3D, Standard 3D or Standard 2D in order to conserve energy. I have a similar problem.
