Ok if i am understanding you right mate your Power LED cable has 2 wires and a 3 pin head but your motherboard only has 2 pins to connect to is that correct?

If so I had the same problem with my old antec sonata case and an asrock board I was selling to a friend. But I found out how to fix it by looking at the asrock website. Here is the link:

http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?Model=General

Its the 15th question down click on it and some diagrams will pop up on what to do. Basically you have to move one of the wires over, its really easy mate. If you have any problems let me know.

I finally done it thatnks to everyone for all your help, the problem i had was the power led had 2 cables which was right but a 3 pin head with the middle pin being empty. So i just cut the head in the middle given me 2 seperate cables plugged them in and worked fine. Just found it strange that they made the middle pin blank, thought they would have made the end one blank really but who cares all done and it looks great, just off to get a new heat sink as mine is massive and it dont fit in the case to good cos the old case had vents on the side but this one dont so looking for a smaller one.

cheers guys you the best!

Last thing like i said im looking for a new heat sink i have a 775 socket on my motherboard and i have been looking at the ones on this site but really not sure which one is best, can someone give me some advice to which one they think is the best type to go for.

Cheers guys

Any idea on the actual motehrboard you have? Here is a link to the download page for VIA mainboards

I'll see if SiS tells me!
Sandra? You can use CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com it'll tell you on the mainboard tab. Unless it is a manufactured PC in which case the field will prolly be blank. Can also check the board itself for a printed model number.

can anyone reccommend me a good heat sink for a 775 socket not worried about price just a good one would be great!

cheers guys

I think im going to go for this cpu cooler can anyone tell me if its a good choice please?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Arctic_Cooling_CPU_Coolers.html

Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 CPU Cooler (Socket 775) (HS-021-AR)
The low speed 92 mm fan reduces the noise level to a minimum. The patented fan holder is able to practically eliminate the typical buzzing sound of 92 mm fans. The Fluid Dynamic Bearing keeps oil inside the bearing and thus reduce friction inbetween and keep the noise level to a minimum. Air is drawn in from the top. Some air is blown out to all four directions in order to cool the voltage converters and chipset. The four rubber connectors o*n the fan case act as a vibration damper to absorb the vibration of the running fan and prevent vibration transfer to the heatsink and the case.

- Heat Sink: 78 x 98 x 56 mm
- Fan: 113 x 101 x 47.2 mm
- Overall Dimensions: 113 x 101 x 91.7 mm
- Rated Fan Speed: 300 - 2000 RPM
- Power Consumption: 0.15 Amp.
- Air Flow: 36 CFM / 62 m3/h
- Weight: 486 g
- Noise Level: 0.6 Sone
- Thermal Resistance: 0.26°C/Watt

To install it do you have to just unclip the 2 big clips on the side of the cpu cooler and pull it out, wipe the thermal paste off, put some new paste down then mount the new cooler and clip it down?

cheers guys
