Problem with my new sub

Well, finally went to Richer Sounds yesterday and came home with some Harman Kardon HKTS 7's and an Onkyo 577. Big issue though, I cannot for the life of me get the subwoofer to make a noise, rumble or anything else at all. Not a peep. Its connected to the pre-out sub connection on theback of the Onkyo, and the LED changes from orange to white which indicates a signal is preset. However, even if I don't have the Onkyo connected to the sub, it will still change to a white LED indicating there is a signal going to it.

Does anyone have any ideas or is it "time to go back there and shout a bit"?

have messed with both of those. Told the Onkyo that yes, there is a sub connected, and raised the volume to the max of +12 but still nothing

volume all the way up and ive set the crossover at various frequencies from 80 to 120

well I know the onkyo is outputting bass now. Connected up my old z5400 sub and that makes a nice noise, the harman kardon making nothing at all. So I guess its a dodgey sub?

all sorted now. it was the sub, swappwd it for a new one and now i get lovely bass from it

It was yeah. They offered me the 577 for £199 which I couldn't really resist!

I just said that they didnt say on the phone it was a repair model. The manager then had a look around out back for 5 mins and pulled the 577 out. It had an open box but it was just to check the amp and stuff we think. Everything was in its wrapping etc. I was getting ready to try to negociate something on the 607 but when he came out with that I snapped it up.
