I turned my PC on this morning, and couldnt get any sound working-I am using the P35C-DS3R onboard audio. When I try using Windows Media Player I get a message saying that there is a problem with my sound device-it is either in use by another program or it is faulty. It has been fine up until now-any idea what is wrong?

I have checked device manager and everything is fine.

Ive just restarted, and everything is back to normal-I will do the driver update though, as I probably ought to anyway. How do you update mobo drivers? I assume its pretty similar to any other update-Im just worried about doing the mobo as it is fairly important!!! If you could give me a brief walkthrough it would be appreciated.

You'll need to go to the Gigabyte website, go to support at the top, then motherboards, then drivers, enter your mobo in the driver search box, and it should give you a list of drivers for your board, simply download and run the latest driver exe

edit: it looks like there are 2 revisions of your board so if you dont know which you have open up your case and you should be able to read it off the board

Hehe that isnt the bit Im worried about-its all downloading fine. I was more wondering if I need to wipe the old drivers etc, or whether I can just install these over them? Cheers for the help.

I normally just install the new ones over the top. I normally only remove the old ones if I get any problems
