I'm pretty sure anything inside a boiler has to be certified, outside (pipes) you can do yourself unless things have changed in the last couple of years.
Whether you do it yourself or not in this case is up to you.
If you need to ask, then no. You don't even know what things you don't know in order to do the job safely and check your work. If you get gas boilers wrong, you can blow up your house and that of your neighbours.
Have you even checked the diagnostic codes the boiler gives you? You're just guessing what the problem is and you've decided to start dismantling the inside of your gas boiler? Seriously, don't do this.
