Problem with Netgear MR814v2 router

I have an MR814v2 router, my brother gave it to me (he had never used it), but when I plug the cable modem into it the internet light does not come on. Even if I plug a computer into one of the four ports, the corresponding light i.e. 1,2,3,4 does not light up. The power and wireless light works fine. I've tried the factory reset button but no joy.

Any ideas?
 
Tried switching the modem and router off, hooking them up, switch modem on, waiting for lights to settle down, then switching the router on?
 
I got one of those... I am having some other issues with mine, but...

My main PC, I use a BT Voyager 205 Modem to connect to the internet with, and then once it was up and running, I connected the Modem to the single Ethernet port, and the PC to Ethernet Port 1... Port 2 is going up to my switch, which in turn, is also then going to the rest of my PCs bar-1

All the PCs using Ethernet are all running just fine.

I did NOTHING with the router itself... Has it got a reset on it?

My only issue that I do have with it right now, and its somehting that I simply cannot fathom, is that when I went up to the Wife's PC, which had 3 Wireless adapters on it ( Dont ask ) and I removed them and just kept the one, and did a fresh install, now, I have absolutely no idea how to get that back on? - that cannot find any network at all?
