Hi,
I have bought a wireless router (Netgear DG384PN), and a Netgear WNP311 PCI Adapter for an old PC I have. Despite being old the PC meets the specs in for the adapter (Pentium II, Windows 98SE, PCI 2.2, plenty of disk space). The card installs with no problems. It shows as working in and Device Manager, with the latest driver, and no conflicts. However the configuration software (wlancfg5.exe) just hangs when I execute it. After about 10 seconds of 'hour glass' nothing. I look in Program Manager and it shows the program as running, but it eventually goes as 'Not reponding'.
Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Does the router need to be up and running for the software to work? (I wouldn't have thought this to be the case).
Cheers,
Jubbly
