Problem with new build

anyway have connected it all up - when i turn on power supply, motherboard light is on
when i turn pc on, CPU and GFX fans start spinning away
DVD-RW light flashes for a bit
but thats it - theres no beep or anything, and nothing on the minitor - monitor just stays in standby
have tried putting in my other SATA HD which already has windows installed, but same thing - nothing appears on screen, and dont hear any beeps or HD making any noises at all, just blank

what can it be? any suggestions?

tried resetting cmos - same thing happens

when i turn on the PC, i can feel the IDE hard drive spinning away, but still nothing happens at all, no beeps at all

when i plug in my sata HD which has windows on it etc...i cant feel it spinning...

have tried putting in my cpu - still same thing - and moving ram around makes no difference

any ideas?

someone must have an idea of whats wrong when literally nothing happens when you turn on the pc...no beeps or anything, just fans spinning....

also just wondering - the beeps you normally here when you POST, where do they come from? the motherboard? ie i dont need to plug any wires in for it?

ok i took out the sound card and plugged in speakers in the on board sound card, then booted, and heard a voice saying failed memory check. seems these boards have a problem with corsair memory, so i put in the geil memory, tried it in a different slot, and it worked woo

BUT

now it just hands at the bios screen...where it says press del to enter setup, and when i do...it says 'entering setup' and just hangs...
