I just ordered two 24" Samsung S24B300's for a dual-screen setup to replace a single 24" samsung that I have had for a couple of years.

The minute I turned on the monitors for the first time I could see that something wasn't right. Both monitors looked as if they were not running their native resolution, colours looked dull and washed out, font's looked too sharp as if clear type was turned off, gradients showed banding, some things appeared blurry, and everything just looked wrong in general.

I'm using dual link DVI cables, I've installed the monitor drivers, updated my graphics drivers, turned on/off every setting on the monitor, calibrated them, but they still look bad.

Surely both monitors can't have a problem? but I don't know what else it could be. compared to my old Samsung monitor, and the 24" Samsung I use at work, the quality just doesn't compare. I don't want to send them back because I'm not convinced there is a problem with them, but the reviews are so good everywhere I look!

They don't even look the same when compared side-by-side, one is much better at whites and the other is better at blacks.

One (out of five) that I got worked nicely and had the features it was supposed to have with a nice picture.

The other four had a horrible, washed out picture with terrible contrast and laughable black levels. This did not change through viewing angle, a firmware update, or a...
Other Thoughts: I received two of these as a gift. One of the two has horrible issues with the colors washing out and and has almost almost no ability to show black. Not sure if it is defective, but I am thinking a counter-fit as the front logo is also not correct.
