Just got a new system today and went to boot up for the first time but I have encounted some problems...

1) Mobo pin for speaker connector was bent a little, I bent it back and fitted the speaker connector.
2) Started up for the first time and the cpu fan cut out for a second then started again then cut out for another second then starts up properly.
3) Monitor didn't click in and just kept telling me to check the cable (cable connected fine)
4) I heard no beeps at all
5) LED's on front of the case stay on.

My new system

I fixed one problem and another came along…

I managed to get my pc to boot up and it asked me to select either default/last known cmos settings (I had reset the cmos trying to fix earlier problem) so I selected default then I pressed del to load bios but then my pc just switched off so I booted it back up and tried to get into bios again and again it switched off on my third attempt I forgot to press del so I did the ctrl-alt-del to restart and when I did that it...........switched off.

Any ideas why?

I'm having a real bitch with this build. I worked out why my PC was cutting out, my CPU was at 100c so I've taken heatsink(stock) off cleaned it along with the CPU applied Arctic Silver paste refitted and booted up and typically the CPU fan stopped working.

Could there be a serious problem here or just a crappy heatsink?
