Kinda worried. My monitor does not support Displayport so I bought an adapter (not allowed to link it here i don't think) but when I plug the new 3070 and use the adapter DV-D > Displayport my monitor has no signal. Says no cable connected and a blue screen.

I checked my GPU and the fans don't even spin, is there something seriously wrong? Kind of worried was hyped to use the adapter whilst I search for a new monitor but I can't get no signal.
Do I have to install the gpu drivers beforehand or whats the problem here?

benq xl2411z is my monitor.

Do you have another monitor or try connecting to the TV and use the hdmi.

The gpu is probably on the default fan settings.

Install afterburner and see if you can rev up the fans to 100% once you get going.

The fans won't spin until they there is a load on the GPU, like has been said connect the graphics card to a TV or monitor with an HDMI cable.

Also install the latest drivers.

There is a chance that the adapter doesn't work, I have read of a few problems getting adapters to work, it's a bit a of a minefield.

Why are you not using HDMI to at least prove the GPU works with your monitor?

It will do 1920x1080@144HZ.

And DP to HDMI works unlike many others adapters like you have no doubt found out.

Ok I got the adapter to work now I have a new problem. 144hz looks extremely blurry, actually hurts my eyes to read. When I put it on 120hz it looks better but not 100%. Is this a problem with the adapter? What should I do.

My monitor HDMI will be locked at 60hz. It's old monitor, doesn't support new HDMI.

I did a benchmark GPU reaches 76c, seems to be ok now and the fans spin. but i have a problem with 144hz, monitor looks blurry but if i switch to 120 hz it looks better but not 100%. what should i do?

Buy a decent modern monitor to go with your new GPU ideally 1440p.

It is a minefield and you play the panel lottery today as the QA is poor compared to years ago but you ideally need a modern monitor with DP1.4 and Adaptive Sync and 1440p@144HZ+ to make good use of your new GPU.

I have this as a fill gap till something better than the bug-ridden Odyssey G7 arrives (£10 less than deal I got):
