Thought I'de put together an old PC I had for a friend last night but had some problem with the CPU fan not working.

Got it all setup working fine the board is the 4COREDUAL-VSTA everything worked fine on 1st boot ...but when I rebooted the CPU fan stopped working ...I tried another cooler on it but again it was dead.

There is power to the motherboard because the graphics card is receiving power because the fans going round.

Not really bothered because it is an old board... but it was the only 775 socket board I had spare for him.

Anyone else ever come across a problem like this.

i use that board in my sisters comp fine....

can you not just pop the cpu fan on another 3pin mobo connector.? or try a "knowen working fan" on that particular 3pin header to narrow it down to the mobo power header or the actual fan itself.

:)

Well if you used the board on your sisters comp m8 then you will know that the cpu fan connector is 4pin... and there is only 1 other 3pin chas fan connector on the board so not much I can do really.

Like I said I tried another cooler and it still didn't work.
