Problem with overclocking, but I can't quite figure out what

Hey, my first post here :)

Also my first overclocking attempt, and I'm having a slightly odd problem that I can't find any info about anywhere.

I have to reboot my PC 3 times when I turn it on, the first time it refuses to POST, the second time it will load up Windows and everything, but completely ignores my overclock, and the third time it all boots up normally. After the third time, I can run Prime95 in Blend mode for 12 hours without finding any errors, and the temperature stays stable at around 63 degrees C.

Another weird thing is the fact that this only happens if I turn it on after it has been off for a while. If it is within about half an hour since I last turned it off, and I turn it on again, it boots up fine.

My build:

Asus P5NT-WS
Intel Q6600 (Overclocked to 3.4Ghz)
Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer
4GB (2x2GB) 1066Mhz Geil Black Dragon RAM
650W Coolermaster PSU
2x Zotac Geforce 9800GT AMP! Editions running in SLi

I think that is everything important hardware-wise. If I've missed anything, please let me know.

I had this exact same problem with my Q6600 coupled with an ASUS striker II Extreme motherboard.

I could prime for 12 hours, but once it went off it wouldn't POST or would freeze on windows boot. etc.

I found out that my Q6600 just can't cope with an fsb over 1333. 1600 with a 8x multi would also present these problems.
