I have a Panasonic VT series 55" plasma screen and I've just purchased a Monitor Audio ASB 2. And I've done something and it's now not working properly via the SPDIF socket. If I connect the ASB 2 via the HDMI ARC it works fine; but not via the SPDIF socket. When I try to use the SPDIF the speakers on the TV still work, and it's as if the ASB is handling bass only. How do I fix it?
I have a DVR, BD player, and FireTV box all plugged in via HDMI to the TV. A PC for gaming will be joining them, or would be if I could free up the fourth HDMI port. There should be a digital link from the TV to the ASB 2, but I'm currently using the HDMI ARC. The digital out on the TV is set to PCM in the sound menu (I've tried Auto). There is a sub attached to the ASB 2. The remote doesn't seem to have a long range either.
The firmware version displayed is 9239.173.3700. When I go to the MA website, I see a version of 109.188.1000 which is nowhere near similar.
I've been through the menus, and everything seems set correctly set. I have not done a factory reset.
What did I do, and what do I need to do to correct it?
