No idea if this is the right area, but here goes...
Playing games like bioshock / DOW and for no apparent reason, i get green slightly diagonal lines, then the pc freezes, then gameplay resumes. few mins later, pc crashes, blue screen.
Now, i get vertical coloured / blank lines on the usual black & white text prior to OS loadup whenever i turn the pc on - it won't even get to windows. If it does get to windows, i have either green or pink diagonal wavy lines, making it unusable.

Tried updating and rolling back graphics drivers (7800GT), also tried complete uninstall of card, DCPro, and latest drivers - no avail.
System restore to earlier point did nothing.
tried new monitor - same problems.
Memtest shows no errors
Reset CMOS (?) by removing battery and loaded failsafe bios, but to no avail.

Currently, it looks like this:

Running out of ideas - any help most appreciated.
My spec is P35 DDR2 Dual core 4gb ram 7800GT
Thanks in advance.

I'd look at a faulty graphics card, but first I would clean out the heatsink/fan on it to make sure it isn't over heating.

its an NVidia 7800GT PCI-E XFX, bought about 3 yrs ago. Had a quick look on their website, nothing about RMA anywhere.
It was time for an upgrade anyway.
