I have put my old hardware in a friends Coolermaster elite case. (120mm fan front intake + 120mm rear exhaust)

The Phenom X4 9950 BE with stock cooler and at stock speed, he insists on leaving the side panel off for whatever reason. The room temp is 20-25'c
At idle the reading with coretemp is 41-45'c. When i ran prime the temp went up to 70'c at which point i stopped the test. Everywhere i read the safe temps are around 65'c but when i spoke to my local pc repair technician he says the safetemp is a lot higher than that and as long as the pc is not shutting down it should be fine. I am lost as to what to do. when gaming will he exeed the safe temp or should he buy a 3rd party cooler and or bigger case which he cant afford?
