Having a strange problem with my wireless adapter (RTL8187 via ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe mobo). I installed Windows 7 x64 a few weeks ago and used the Vista x64 drivers for the RTL8187. It's been working without any issues until yesterday where it curiously stopped working. I looked in the device manager and the device is no longer installed and is listed as an "unknown device" which has stopped working under Code 43 (for which Microsoft doesn't give much explanation).
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but that didn't work. Each time you uninstall it the device disappears from view. I tried refreshing the list and it picks it up but immediately classifies it as an unknown device and I'm back to square one. I've searched for a better driver on the net and found nothing. I've tried using a different driver, and still nothing.
Any advice? I'm at a complete loss.
