Hey guys,
I'm in need of abit of assistance! having some problems with my new Saitek Eclipse Lifetouch Keyboard.
Heres where the story begins...
I originally had an Eclipse III but one of the keys decided to pack in and madcatz replaced it under warranty. Unfortunately when they sent me the eclipse lifetouch 3 of the keys didnt work on that either so I got ANOTHER replacement.
This one all seems fine except I'm having a problem with the LCD screen.
When first installing the keyboard following the manuals instructions I plugged in the device and the LCD screen lit up looking all sexy and functioning fine untill I decided to turn off my computer.
I switched it back on again and everything was fine untill the Windows 7 Loading screen just appears, It seems that windows checks all of your USB devices and they switch off briefly for a few seconds and then back on.
This is all fine and dandy with my other USB devices as they go off and come back on, but when the Eclipse lifetouch keyboard does the LCD screen does.
Its weird because the backlight is working absolutely fine, even the one on the LCD screen but the actually keys don't re-appear, however they do respond asif they were there (I can push them).
I can't seem to figure out why it does it? Heres what I've tried so far -
-Reinstalling the drivers (which was an absolute nightmare in its self as Madcatz only provide uninstallation for the programming software and not for the keyboard drivers) It seems that they quite easily become corrupt and I had to download something else to take ownership of the drivers so that I could download and reinstall).
- Contacting Madcatz, unfortunately they told me that all of there test benches are fine and that I should check the brightness icon (how helpful).
- Disabling all power saving options I can think of that may affect it.
- Taking alook at BIOS USB settings, there doesn't seem to be anything related, I'm using the latest BIOS too.
Other than that I can't think what else could affect it... I mean its just a keyboard!
If anybody has any suggestions I'm all ears?
