Hello. I used to have a samsung j5 mobile which I used in the car with a plantronic speaker for incoming calls. It was perfect but I have changed my phone and now have a samsung a20e.

The speaker works properly with audio phone calls but the volume of the ringtone blows my head off.

If I turn the volume down on the plantronic I can't hear the caller and if I turn the ringtone down on the phone then that is too quiet for normal use.

Any ideas please ??

I used Audacity to create a Custom Ringtone with about 3 different volume levels from very quiet to about half the volume of the loudest version. I then loaded it into the Ringtone folder on the internal drive which meant after a reboot it appears in the Ringtone list. This also works for notifications using the Notifications folder on the internal drive.

Doing it this way means you keep your favourite sound but have varying volume levels.

There's probably simpler programs than Audacity to make the changes to the volume it's just that I'm familiar with it.

Understood...but how does it differentiate between someone ringing on the phone only and ringing when you're in the car with the speaker turned on.

For info I use my own ringtones for a couple of people so I know who is ringing but the volume is the same for all.of them.

It doesn't. You may be able to use something like Tasker to set one particular ringtone or volume when connected to the car system and then change it back when disconnected but that's outside my competence.

Maybe a different speaker system would make a difference?
