I use my sky.com email address to setup my Android devices and for Google online services.

My problem is that Google Play, Music and Wallet are not synced between my phone and when I access online using my desktop.

Anyone out there that uses a sky email address and has a working sync with online services? Anyone with the same problem as me?

Isn't this because the sky.com is a hosted email address (eg your mail address, their platform) rather than a google account?

You can use any email address to access your Google account these days.

Sounds weird - I'm using different linked addresses on my Google and I've not seen any problems. It shouldn't be anything to do with Sky, sounds like an account issue.

Given Sky use the the Google system, then I would expect it to work... contacts, calendar, talk and the gmail app all work properly; but Play, wallet and music don't sync properly.

I've been exchanging emails with Google support, and they have suggested it is a fundamental issue with sky.com accounts... I'd like to know if there is anyone with a Sky account with working Play and Music syncing between the phone and the browser version, then I can tell Google that it is not all sky accounts. They have suggested I move from sky to a gmail address, but I have the perfect email address with sky... with gmail I'll have to add numbers to the end of my name!

Sky use the google hosted system, it just hosts their office replacement toolset.
Google will provide a customized version of Gmail, essentially a flavor of hosted Gmail for the sky.com domain, that will also include access to Google Calendar and Google Talk. There will be a video portal that uses YouTube back-end to "allow users to edit, upload and share their own video content, including the facility to upload and download from a mobile phone".
This is not a full account, those are made by going to google services directly and signing up. Stu, you can make a full google account for apps and music and one for mail and calendar, this isn't a big issue.

EDIT: older accounts have issues, newer accounts I suspect. Just tried my sky account, some stuff works but not all.

Play store works for me with apps on my sky account. But it won't let me use books with it for some reason, Not a biggie though cause I also have a gmail account which is used for music etc
