hi guys, im after some advice and hopefully anoc tech may help or someone with the above pc.
originally my pc had to be returned to have the hard drive replaced as i was getting BSOD's.
things had been going well until this week when again im getting BSOD's.
this time it mentions memroy management in the STOP message.
iv taken it to a local pc shop who i trust and as soon as they booted it up they got one too. he has commented on the temperature being hi 50oc+.
is this normal for this system?
mine was returned without the big arctic cooling freezer 64 pro pwm cpu cooler, instead with what looks like the original fan. could this be the reason, and who elses doesnt have the large fan?
they are now running other tests to try and sort it out for me

yes i did, 25th feb 09, iv spoken to them again this morning and theyve said that if the shop finds out whats wrong i can return that component. iv not been lucky with this pc so far to say the least!!

to be fair if OCUK are happy for said shop to look at it then it saves people effort, cost and time shipping back a whole unit. And it's probably easier for cocker92 to take over there

its a lot easier to take to local shop and for them to run the tests.
as for my questions, why didnt it have the big cooler refitted, could it be the problem?

the fan wouldn't have been the issue and would simply have been changed. Especially as the HDD was found to be at fault. I would question OCUK about this as it shouldn't have been removed imo

Hi cocker, i too had my Titan Vulcan returned, and so far it has been running like a dream. I also had a smaller fan fitted, which i enquired about on the forums and my reply was:

"The cooler that was original fitted did not ship well when installed in the systems we have now changed it for the Gelid Silent Spirit....", and so far i have had no problems with heat. My CPU is OC to 3.5 and i have ran crysis at max setting for several hours with no problems.

That reply was from Smirnoff (who was amazingly helpful throughout), if i remember correctly you were able to fix your system by removing/replacing the heatsink, its quite possibly that something also got damaged by DHL in transit.

Got my Titan Vulcan today, gutted, it wouldn't even post. Packed back up and RMA'd. Tried re-seating the CPU per the tech advice helpline, ram, gpu etc, no joy :( I was looking so forward to getting it aswell.

iv had a phone call from the local shop to tell me the memory has failed a test, just waiting to speak to them and then it looks like that will be going back to oc next.

cant wait for some luck for once!!

You should have just arranged a pick up from OC in the first place, as its under warranty. I dont like to think how much a local shop charges to look at a PC these days!
