Problem with Transmission (Bittorrent)

Transmission decided to update itself the other day. Since then, it appears to be utterly swamping the network connection. If it's downloading, I can't get anything else network-y to work e.g. mail, web.

Any ideas, or is this more likely some bug in the new release?

I can live with downloading when I'm away from the computer for now, but if it's going to be an ongoing thing I'd rather fix it or downgrade to the old version.

Has it reset your upload speed to maximum/unlimited? That could explain the cripplingly slow speed?

I previously had it at unlimited and things were usable. Even if I cap it at 10k it still appears to block everything else.

Hmm ... maybe the number of simultaneous connections has been changed, making it cripple the router/connection?

Check the number of global connections and/or the maximum connections per new transfer isn't set higher.

Well, I reverted to 1.50 and it works now... Weird. It must be something in my setup that causes the problem, as I'm sure a bug like that would have been caught in testing!

Transmission hogs my connection whatever version it is, problem doesn't seem fixable for some people.

The latest versions of Transmission seem a bit flaky. I find anything past v1.34 doesn't seem to upload as well.
