Problem with Tritton AX Pro headset on PC

I purchased my friends self build computer and this has the Foxconn Bloodrage motherboard with Sonar X-Fi Soundcard. I have a Tritton AX-Pro headset that i use with my xbox and wanted to connect this to the PC.

The AX Pro comes with a PC adaptor that has a Usb plug, green, pink, orange and black 3.5mm jacks. I plugged the headset into the PC using the adaptor and i'm getting pretty bad feedback.

It seems like it isn't getting enough power from the USB. Everytime the HDD is writing or even something as simple as a mouse click, i get more feedback through the headset.

Anybody have any ideas as to what i might be or how to fix it? I don't really want to go buy a different headset to use with my PC.

Thanks.

Yeah, I recently upgraded my PC and dug out the Tritton pro yesterday that I had hidden away due to struggling to get the sound levels right on it about a year ago, and connected them exactly as you mentioned - nothing happens. soundcard shows feedback when lowering/increasing volume but nothing from the actual headphones apart from some feedback.

Having to use the amp etc and having that plugged in is a hassle so I might just put them on ebay if I can't get them working using the supplied analogue leads for the headset combined with the soundcard (Asus 7.1 DS)
