I have this strange problem with USB ports on one of the laptops at work. When you connect any new devices it discovers them but then windows xp wants to install some drivers but fails to do so therefore any new device like mouse/iphone won't work. It detects the devices in Device Manager but with a yellow mark. Laptop has got a mouse plugged in in one of the USB ports which is working fine but I suppose this mouse was plugged in ages ago where there were still no issues with the USB ports.
Any idea what is wrong and how do I fix this?
I've been thinking of running windows xp repair which might fix the problem.
