problem with w800i

i have a prob with my sony erricson w800i

i switched my phone on this morning and it gets to the first screen sony erricson logo and freezes i had to remove battery to turn it off i tried again i got the same thing so i tried cleaning it all etc and still the same , so i removed me 512 mem stick out the side and tried and it works perfect , if i put the mem stick back in while the phone is on it doesnt see it so i try switching of and back on and it freezes :(

anyone got any ideas on what i can do or what could be wrong

Computer... Card Reader... Right Click... Format... Easy Peasy!...

You might want to check on tha card at the time for anything you want to keep!!! (if it'll let you!)
 
I had the EXACT same problem when I first got my W800i. It was my memory card that had been corrupted. Probably when the crappy software that it comes with was transferring songs but decided to fail.

Solution?

I had to buy a new memory card... Tried to format it on my computer but the card was actually corrupt and couldn't be read. This was on 2 computers and the printer which has a mem card slot.

Hopefully its not the same problem I had, but it does seem exactly the same.

If you contact your service provider, they may offer to pay for the replacement. Orange said they would pay for mine providing I faxed them the receipt. I did this 5 times and still they didn't cover the cost of the new 512mb card :mad:

Gave up in the end.
