Hi all

installed some BT Wi-fi discs for my father a little while ago, and noticed that his Vodafone router wouldn’t go into modem only mode.

I finished setting them in accordance to their WiFi app, and switched off the WiFi on the Vodafone router.

Since then (a few months ago), he’s noticed various issues with Chromecast, Google hone, and now that I’ve temporarily moved in for self isolation, I’m having issues getting my Xbox and PC connected, with the Xbox saying it can’t get a Teredo IP and the PC saying it cannot obtain an IP address.

The issues I’m having are similar to those I’ve had before with double NAT

Does anyone have any advice on how to set up the discs properly, without use of modem mode on the router?

Im aware I’ve likely missed a lot of information, so if you have any questions, please let me know

If your devices aren't getting an IP address then it will be more a problem of the discs not meshing properly or even being connected to the network.

I don't have experience with the BT discs but modem mode shouldn't be needed, set them up as just access points and you'll be golden.

Thanks for the input

I believe this is what I have done - don’t think the discs do any routing, so should just be access points. The discs are definitely connected, as most devices do indeed work, however there just seems to be a number of problems. Perhaps I’ll login to the Vodafone hub again and take a look.

Maybe do a “turn it off and on again”
