Hey all, so I have an issue ever since I enabled folder sharing on my windows 7 PC.
2 Accounts on the system admin and 'media'
I had a normal admin account and just selected to share the folder read only for the media account so everyone can access and view and the admin was read write from my main pc, the idea being I could back up to the server PC from my main pc.
All was well then I made the server pc DLNA enabled and made it the central homegroup PC. Then all of a sudden I was unable to write to and from my backup folder (located on server PC) from my normal pc, the media folders were still accessible but read only, under what I can only assume is the homegroup config.
So for love nor money I couldnt get my backup folder accessed so I made ANOTHER admin account (combats account) and selected share only with this user for read write/access. I went back to my normal pc and this worked once, I did select remember my credentials etc when making a network drive to this folder.
Now when I select the drive it just says access is denied, iv tried making a new network drive from the shared folder and inputting my 'combats account' user credentials but it just says the same thing
I want to end up with my media folders shared as read only to every PC which they are as this seems to work (media log in account).
BUT I want my main pc to have full read and write access to all the media folders, and the backup folder, but this seems to not work currently, any ideas?
Current accounts on the system are:
admin - what i use to access the pc and control it under remote desktop connection
combat - admin account which I hoped would give me full read/write to all folders but it wont
media- a read only account for accessing the media only
Both PCS running windows 7 ultimate.
