Hey guys,

Im getting error "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570."

during the install of Windows 8 Pro, always at 15%, so far ive tried....

ive removed everything from the PC other than the destination HDD, ive tried just one ram stick, ive run memtest and both showed as fine after about 18 hours.

Ive tried 2 different HDD's, and ive tried different SATA cables and ports, ive tried 2 different USB sticks, one is brand new and installing by transfering the ISO using both MS usb tool and Rufus.

Ive tried it in both USB2 and 3 ports and lastly in the install ive shift-f10 and partitioned and chkdsk at the cmd prompt.

Ive reset the bios, ive even removed the battery. Only common thing I can think of is that I am making the bootable USB in a VM (tried both a xp and w7 vm) on an old mbp, I have used this before to setup this PC.

Im really lost for what to try, I should add the PC has been perfect, I just felt like resetting it up as it was getting a bit messy.

Any help is much appreciated.

i just checked the md5 sum on the google one and its right, I havnt tried that yet Tres_Kun, thanks ill give it a try.

Just to update, I went out and got another Flash drive, this time Sandisk and it worked perfect first time.

So my conclusion is... I'm not touching PNY again after 2 failed new drives.

Cheers for the help guys.
