When I watch vids with Windows media player, the video is always in composite colours, ie it's mainly blue but with red and yellow tinges. This is only with windows media, it's fine with realplayer.

What's going on?!! Tried to dowload windows media 11, but at the validate it says I'm using a non-genuine copy of XP (It's totally legit  )

Try going into Tools>Options in Media Player. Then drop the video acceleration down a notch or two. See if that helps.

Could be a dodgy codec, I ended up re installing the ones I used to cure mpg's being all green once and eventually found the one that caused it.

Have you got Nero installed? If you goto file>properties when viewing the clip does it say the video decoder is the "Nero video decoder", because I had a similar problem where Nero was to blame!

I had a similar problem when i wanted to watch .avi files (lost etc.) in media player. The main picture would be black and white while nearer the top there would be sections of the video in seperate composite colours.

I downloaded a codec pack and it sorted out the problem straight away.

It was either this one

Or this one

Download them both and install the first one, i'm sure its that one that fixed it. Try a video and if it doesn't work try the second one.

Post back about how it goes.
