Problem with Wireless Cable Router

hello, i recently purchased an Azurewave AW-NR580 wireless N router and installed it with no issues. It's been working fine for a few weeks but i left it on last night and when getting up this morning i noticed i'd lost my net connection on both of my computers last night.

Both of the computers were able to connect wirelessly to the home network for media streaming but no net access. The cable modem showed the net connection working solidly (solid green light at least) and also showed pc activity, my wireless router also had the indicator on to indicate it had internet connectivity. my xp machine said the cause of the issue was that my pc hadn't been assigned a network address. i used ipconfig and it didn't show a default gateway. i tried release/renew to no effect. i eventually tried plugging my laptop into the router wired and into the modem wired and neither of them worked. phoned up cable and they told me to remove the coax as i switched off modem (i'd just been unplugging the power not coax previously) and hey presto when it came back on as long as i was wired into the modem directly it works, sadly however the router is still not working whether wired or wireless. I've tried resetting, leaving it switched off for half hour, going back to default settings. all to no effect.

Any ideas or do i need to contact manufacturer?
