Problem with wood from wickes

Hey all,

I got some wood from wickes, was planning to use it to be a frame for some mdf
but It seems infested? is this woodworm?
should I burn the house now?

Did it come from Wickes like that or had you stored it?

Unfortunately I didn't inspect it when it arrived, it's been standing in the flat for probably a month now.

A month! I can't imagine you'll get much luck with trying to get Wickes to refund/replace now.

At the moment I'm more worried that this is something that'll have spread to my flat, or my flat had and spread to the wood!

Ah i completely misread your post! Thought you were asking if Wickes would refund/replace it.

Is there any other wood nearby with similar damage?

where was it stored ? start lifting carpets and looking at door frames where it was ..

it's a 1960's built flat.
It was stored just leaning against a wall in the living room.
stood on floorboards, and next to some ply, mdf, couple other bits of Timber.
But everything else is more treated wood, so wasn't sure if they've just taken a liking to the soft white wood

Can't see any other damage to the wood it was stored next to.

Looks like common furniture beetle and if its limited to just that piece it would have been infested before you bought it.
