i've tried installing wow on my dell inspiron laptop, specs are core 2 duo with a x1400 graphics card and 2 gb ram, running vista
the game runs really bad i can only get around 15fps, i know it's no gaming machine but my old laptop ran better than this
it's recently had a clean install of vista and all drivers current ,i've tried turning off all the visuals on vista aero glass etc, even if i turn all the graphics settings down on the game it doesn't seem to make a difference :(

I have an M1710 XPS and had similar problems. When i put XP back on, the frame rate jumped back up so I assume it was something to do with video drivers. I never did manage to find any that didnt cause the problem.

i might try installing xp instead then to see if thats any better, i'm not bothered about having vista installed i only use the laptop for browsing and a bit of wow if i can get it to work :)

Are you playing with it plugged into the mains? On most laptops, the GPU will throttle back when on battery power!
