Installed my new x1950xt x series and it shows up as "X1900 Series" in display settings.

I wouldn't mind this, but in ATI Control panel's overdrive section where is says the current speeds for overclocking it says:

Requested GPU speed: 627

Current GPU speed: 500

Requested Memory speed: 707

Current Memory: 598

When I move the sliders up to the requested numbers and click apply they just fall right back down to the current low levels.

In game performance doesn't currently seem any better than my X850XTPE so I'm a bit disappointed at the moment.

Any ideas what the actual clock speeds should be for this device?

Any ideas how I can sort this?

Using the latest ATI drivers from the website. Downloaded yesterday.

Cheers,

G

/also as a separate question, how can I show the temperatures in the latest version of ATI tool?

The Current speeds are the 2D speeds (desktop), the requested speeds are the 3D speeds (which it goes to when you start gaming), you don't need to move the sliders as its automatic switching.

ah! so that means all is well?

Cheers,

G

/edit I've only done one test in game...I only had like 2 mins to test it so I spawned in CZ and threw a load of smokes down. Was hoping it wouldn't lag but it did. I guess I shouldn't expect it to be smooth in smoke?

I will try some more gaming when I get the chance and see how it runs :)
