Small problem, when I try and turn my pc on, I get nothing at all, sometimes the fans spins around for 2secs then stop!

Ive only been having this problems since I tryed to change the RAM to 1gig from 512k.

Ive put the old RAM back in now still same, tryed reseting CMOS taking battery out. Ive tryed new psu, taken motherboard out tryed out of case still no luck, only thing I can think it may be is that the CPU as died.

Specs of PC
p4 1.8
mobo abit it7
Ram some 2700 stuff
350PSU
Gf 4 ti4200

To be honest I would doubt it is the CPU. Did the motherboard post (ie beep) prior to the fault when turned on? From my experience MB's tend to be the easiest bit to break. Many turn out to be DOA. They will often run the fans but it will end there. Try disconnecting everything from the board, then seat the CPU and CPU fan. Then reseat the graphics card and add the known working memory. If still no joy then unfortunatley is likely to be either the CPU or mobo. However I would place money on the mobo.

I would agree that it is most likely a mobo issue.

If you remove memory or gfx card and try and boot and it doesn't beep at you then this is a good indication it's the mobo.

i had / having the exact same issue with mine! i'm afraid it's your motherboard :( i will dig up the thread for u, i now have mine back running but won't run ram in dual channel!

Thanks for help guys! ive tryed with GFX card out, and RAM out, getting no beeps at all.. think its my mobo died, ive got light on mobo to say its on?

interesting aswell is that your motherboard is a dfi  try taking round to a friends and powering it up for his mains, i did this and worked first time got it home and it loaded after that but only in single channel mode
